Vern also loved great danes, she had three of them as service dogs over the years- Jean Claude, Sam and Marcus. She enjoyed going to flee markets and spending time with her family and friends. She loved to travel, being on the road and eating out. Vern loved the ocean, especially at Myrtle Beach, SC and Key West Beach, FL. She was proud of all the patients she had Land Mark Nursing Home, until she was physically unable to continue working. She was a retired Registered Nurse with over 32 years experience, 27 of those years were at the Jenkins Hospital until its closure, and the remaining 5 were at Parkview Nursing Home, Signature Nursing Home and Lavern was a Christian of the Baptist faith.
